AREORE
31.05—21.06.2023
Arcipèlago is happy to present a new exhibition of artworks by Francesco Poiana: a collection of twenty‑two watercolors created specifically for the Italian winemaker Scarbolo, in collaboration with the studio Designwork.
Based in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy, Scarbolo seeks to share the most authentic character of its land in all its forms. For this reason, the winery invited Francesco Poiana to create the watercolors reproduced on each bottle. This series of works on paper can be read as a return to origins—a tribute to the simple beauty of a landscape that holds within itself myths, lights, and tones. A landscape that resists domestication. A metaphor for the way wine gradually reveals its complex nature, hinting at its most indomitable spirit.
As the title Areore suggests—a jubilant cry of the traveler who, after a long journey abroad, returns home and is welcomed with good wine—this exhibition is a colorful and joyful celebration of the drink of the gods and of those who craft it.
